*Strategic Lead Integrated Commissioning – Integrated Commissioning – #OR100189

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Strategic Lead in Integrated Commissioning to join Southwark Council working in partnership with the South East London Integrated Care System (SELICS). This is a project-based role reporting directly to the Director of Integrated Commissioning and the Integrated Health and Care Senior Management Team.

The postholder will act as the owner of the division’s commissioning and procurement pipeline, applying robust project management approaches to ensure projects are delivered in line with planned timescales. A key focus will be leading the recovery of projects that have fallen behind schedule, requiring the ability to work flexibly across teams and service areas.

Key responsibilities include:
– Holding and delivering a portfolio of strategic commissioning projects across children’s, education, adults, older people, learning disabilities and mental health
– Taking the lead in the development and delivery of substantial projects across all stages of the commissioning cycle
– Working collaboratively with existing Heads of Service to ensure teams are operating efficiently and effectively
– Developing and maintaining key strategic relationships with providers including NHS trusts, commissioned service providers, and Integrated Care System partners

Candidates must bring demonstrable experience of commissioning and strategy development across local government and/or health settings. A strong understanding of the commissioning cycle, procurement pipelines, and project management methodology is essential. Experience working across multiple service areas and with NHS bodies will be a distinct advantage.
