Job Description
Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead one of its children’s residential homes as part of a growing, ambitious and child-centred local authority residential service based in Offerton, Stockport (SK2 7LT).
This is a genuine opportunity to create a warm, nurturing and stable home where children and young people feel safe, cared for and able to thrive. Alongside leading the day-to-day running of the home, you will develop a reflective and supportive staff team with relationships, safeguarding and positive outcomes at the heart of practice.
You may already be an experienced Registered Manager, or a Deputy Manager or Senior Residential Worker ready for the next step. Applications are warmly welcomed from candidates currently working in the private sector who are looking to move into a values-led local authority service where the focus is firmly on children rather than profit.
You will join a strong network of Registered Managers, Deputies and residential colleagues helping to shape high-quality children’s homes across Stockport, with a shared commitment to trauma-informed, relationship-based care.
Rate: £40–£45 per hour. Contract: 22 June – 30 September 2026. Sourced via XMS.
If you share Stockport’s values and are passionate about delivering remarkable residential care for children and young people, please apply now.
