Job Description

Barnet Council is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join its busy Urgent Response OT team, based in Colindale, NW9. This is an interim locum role paying £25.01–£34.31 per hour, available from 29 June 2026.

The team provides Occupational Therapy and Moving and Handling Risk assessments across the whole borough of Barnet. Referral criteria include cases involving unsafe transfers, high risk of physical injury to carers, safeguarding concerns related to equipment or manual handling, unserviceable equipment, increases from single to double-handed care requiring manual handling assessment, and palliative clients not currently supported by CHC or North London Hospice.

The role involves one day per week as duty OT in addition to caseload work. You will be expected to work autonomously, managing your own diary across the borough — a car driver is therefore preferable. Monthly supervision and day-to-day team support are provided.

The ideal candidate will hold a recognised OT qualification, be HCPC registered, and bring strong manual handling assessment experience. You will be a positive team player who thrives in a fast-paced, community-based setting.
