Job Description
Achieving for Children is seeking an Information Governance Support Officer to join its Strategy and Insights Service in Twickenham (TW1 3BW). This is a temporary role paying £20.69–£26.98 per hour, starting 3 August 2026.
Reporting to the Head of Information Governance and Policy, you will be the first point of contact for public enquiries relating to Freedom of Information (FOI) and Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Key responsibilities include coordinating and processing FOI requests within statutory deadlines, redacting information and preparing reports for data subject requests, providing advice and guidance to colleagues across Achieving for Children, maintaining accurate records of all information requests, and supporting the development and implementation of IG policies and training.
Candidates should have a sound knowledge of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and Freedom of Information legislation, along with strong analytical, written communication, and organisational skills. Experience working in a children’s services or health environment is desirable, as is a GCSE (grade C/4 or above) in English and Maths or equivalent. You must be able to manage competing deadlines, exercise independent judgement, and communicate clearly on complex regulatory matters to a wide range of stakeholders.
