The role is for East Help and Protection Social Worker, based in the Help and Protection Service, Children and Families directorate.

The service offers statutory support and intervention to children between the ages of 0-18 years and their families.

Key Social work tasks involve; carrying out home visits, completing direct work with children / families, completing assessment (child and family assessments, parenting assessment, risk assessment, viability assessments), writing reports, attending/chairing meetings, reviewing and updating children’s plans, and working with multi agency partners to ensure appropriate support is in place.   

Caseloads will be between 17 – 22 children; threshold levels will be CP and CIN.   The caseload could also include children who are Looked After and may include private or public Law Court work

The expectation is that workers will be in the office a minimum of 3 days a week.
