Job Description

Liverpool City Council is seeking an experienced Childrens Team Manager to join its Family Help Service, based at Liverpool North Connexions Centre, Utting Avenue East, L11 1DQ. This is a locum role paying £33.60–£45.00 per hour via Prism, starting 22 June 2026.

As Team Manager you will provide direct line management to consultant social workers, social workers, and outreach family support workers, holding accountability for the quality of practice across your team. You will support consultant social workers in their own supervisory responsibilities, ensuring robust management oversight and consistent supervision arrangements are in place for all case holders. Your focus will be on driving positive interventions that improve outcomes for children and young people, whilst also managing team performance, attendance, and health and safety requirements.

The successful candidate will be a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England, with demonstrable experience of managing teams within children’s social care and a strong understanding of effective family help and early intervention practice.
