Job Description

A local authority in Sunderland (SR3) is recruiting a qualified Social Worker for a Fostering Hub role, starting 29 June 2026. Paying £27.56 per hour via Comensura.

This post sits within a regional Pathfinder Fostering Hub, where you will provide sound advice and guidance to prospective foster carers and support the implementation of the Hub model across the region. You will carry a caseload that draws on knowledge of family finding and matching children with carers, working collaboratively with children, foster carers, parents, and other professionals.

Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Experience in fostering is strongly preferred; experience in kinship care or adoption will also be considered. A solid working knowledge of the Children Act 1989 is essential, along with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
