Job Description
Swindon Borough Council is seeking an experienced Childrens Social Worker to join its Children Looked After Team, based at the Civic Campus in Swindon (SN1 2JW).
The team works with children under 16 who have a care plan of long-term foster care. Children transfer into the team following the conclusion of care proceedings and remain until they reach sixteen. Caseloads are manageable, typically between 14 and 16 children for a full-time worker.

The rate is £32.28–£42.00 per hour, with a start date of 24 June 2026. Swindon Borough Council has confirmed that a £100 weekly travel and accommodation allowance will remain in place for all new and existing agency placements within Children’s Social Care until 31 August 2026 — available to workers residing more than 50 miles from Swindon.
