Job Description
Rutland County Council is seeking an experienced Children’s Social Worker to join their Child Protection service, based at Catmose, Oakham (LE15 6HP). This is a locum role paying £205.35–£282.13 per day, available from 16 June 2026.
You will carry a mixed caseload of Child in Need, Child Protection, Care Proceedings, and Children Looked After. Day-to-day duties include attending CIN meetings and Core Group Meetings, participating in RCPCs and ICPCs, completing statutory family visits, supporting family time where needed, and producing high-quality reports and case recordings in line with local authority standards.
The successful candidate will be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England, with demonstrable experience across child protection and care proceedings. Strong case-recording discipline and the ability to manage a varied statutory caseload are essential.
