Job Description

Semester is recruiting a qualified Advanced Practitioner for Gateshead Council, based at the Civic Centre, NE8 1HH. This is a long-term locum role paying £34.45 per hour, available from 8 May 2026.

The role involves caseholding across Long Term Child in Need, Child Protection, and Court Work. You will hold a caseload of complex children and families cases, contributing to safeguarding and permanence outcomes within a busy statutory children’s service.

Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Experience in statutory children’s social work, particularly Child Protection and court proceedings, is essential.
