Working Pattern: Hybrid (min. 3 days office-based per week after induction)


We are currently recruiting for an experienced Adults Social Worker to join the frontline safeguarding team at Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council.

This is a critical role within a fast-paced team responsible for triaging all incoming adult safeguarding concerns and taking immediate action to implement safeguarding plans.

🔹 Key Responsibilities:

  • Triage and assess safeguarding referrals under Section 42

  • Develop and implement immediate safeguarding plans

  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to ensure service users are protected from risk and harm

  • Maintain accurate and timely case records

  • Ensure work complies with relevant legislation and Care Act duties

🔹 Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker (SWE registered)

  • Significant experience in adult safeguarding essential

  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation including the Care Act 2014

  • Ability to make timely and defensible decisions in complex cases

  • Excellent communication and multi-agency working skills

🔹 Working Arrangements:

  • Hybrid model: Minimum 60% office-based (3 days per week) after induction

  • Induction period will require more in-office presence
