Job Description

Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an experienced Adults Social Worker to join their Mental Health Adult Social Care team, based in Ashton-under-Lyne (OL7 9QG).

This is a contract role running from 15 June to 3 October 2026, paying £20.58–£35 per hour. The working pattern is 4 days in the office with 1 day working from home.

You will need demonstrable experience working in a busy social work team, with knowledge of mental health, Care Act assessments, CoPDoLS/court work, placements, and direct payments.

Candidates must be able to provide 3 years of references, with gaps in employment history checked, and hold relevant qualifications as per the job description/person specification.
