Job Description

Rochdale Adult Care is recruiting an experienced Social Worker to join the Community Team in Middleton, covering maternity leave. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:45pm, paying £30 per hour via XMS. The post runs from 24 August to 26 September 2026.

You will promote a strengths-based approach to assessments, support planning, and advice and guidance to colleagues, service users, and carers in line with the Care Act 2014. You will be experienced in completing Mental Capacity Assessments and Section 42 Enquiries, and will be expected to support the Home First Hospital Discharge Hub during periods of social work pressure. Participation in the Duty Rota is required.

The successful candidate will be a positive, enthusiastic, and professional social worker who promotes the independence and well-being of service users, utilising natural support and the voluntary sector to deliver creative support planning solutions. Excellent organisational, communication, and ICT skills are essential, along with the ability to maintain accurate records on both manual and electronic systems. Experience with Liquid Logic is beneficial.

Three years of references are required, with gaps in employment history checked. Some home working may be available subject to service needs.
