Job Description

Semester Recruitment is seeking an experienced Adults Social Worker for Flintshire County Council, based at Tŷ Draig, St David’s Park, Deeside, CH5 3FF. This is a locum contract starting 15 June 2026, paying £25.58–£34.31 per hour via Prism.

This is a Level III experienced practitioner role within Adult Social Services, reporting to a Senior Practitioner or Team Manager. The post holder will carry a complex caseload independently, assessing and managing risk, safeguarding vulnerable adults, and making sound judgements about the need for compulsory action.

Key responsibilities include undertaking community care and safeguarding assessments in line with statutory requirements, developing and implementing outcome-focused care plans, commissioning value-for-money care packages, and liaising with multi-disciplinary partners across health and voluntary sectors. You will maintain accurate case records, write reports, and may be required to give court evidence. There is also the opportunity to supervise students or trainees on placement.

Essential requirements: a recognised social work qualification (CQSW, CSS, or DipSW), registration with Social Work Wales, and a minimum of two years’ post-qualifying experience in assessment and risk management within adult services. Experience with older people and their families is desirable, as is knowledge of relevant social care legislation.
