Job Description

A new opportunity is available for a self-motivated, highly organised individual to join our Direct Payments Team within Adult Social Care. 

In this role, you will be part of a supportive team, helping individuals who choose to use Direct Payments for their care needs.

As a caseworker, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working collaboratively within a team and independently, using your own initiative.

  • Communicating effectively to guide and support both current and prospective users of the scheme on recruitment and employment matters.

  • Monitoring, supporting, advising, and assisting users in managing their Direct Payments packages and finances.

  • Reviewing, monitoring, and examining financial records and other relevant documentation held by Direct Payments recipients. This includes keeping detailed records using Microsoft Excel, therefore experience with this programme is essential. 

  • Conducting home visits and building strong working relationships with all stakeholders.

  • Promoting and raising awareness of Direct Payments while contributing to the service’s ongoing development.

  • Keeping up-to-date with employment issues and agency provisions.
