Job Description

This is a position for a Social Worker within our Connecting Families Team. This Team is specifically based around supporting our children to achieve legal permanence via their Care Orders being discharged or SGO’s being granted with their connected carers. The role will involve you working with children in care who are either placed at home with their parents through Placement with Parent Regulations, or living with connected carers through the Fostering Standards. You will be expected to support our children through the statutory looked after procedures, whilst updating assessments and completing Court documents to secure legal permanence for our children. Your caseload will be around 20-22 children. You will be supported with monthly case supervision and personal supervision, as well as having regular support from the teams social work consultant as and when needed. The office is based in Pity Me, Durham. You are expected to be office based at least 1-2 days per week to work as a team and be part of team meetings.

You must have:

  • A professional qualification in social work and experience of working with Children’s

  • Social Work England registration.

  • Post qualified experience.

  • Enhanced DBS/Update service.

  • References required for the last 5 years of employment.
