Job Description

Manchester area · 37 hrs pw · Competitive hourly rate · Long-term temp

Make a real difference for children with complex needs while keeping your practice sharp across Child in Need, Child Protection and Looked-After Children work.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver strengths-based assessments and safeguarding plans that put each child’s voice first.

  • Lead strategy meetings and Section 47 enquiries where disability and risk intersect.

  • Prepare clear court reports and advocate powerfully for the child’s best interests.

  • Use creative tools (Makaton, PECS, social stories) to communicate in ways that matter.

What you’ll bring

  • Social Work England registration and solid post-qualifying children’s experience.

  • Proven practice with Children with Disabilities, Looked-After Children, CP and CiN.

  • Confident multi-agency collaboration, report-writing and court-work skills.

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car 🚗 (mileage paid).

  • Bonus points for Practice Educator, BIA or autism-specific training.
