Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Childrens Senior Social Worker to join Durham County Council on a Harm Outside the Home post, working with teenagers aged 13 and above. This role focuses on safeguarding young people from risks arising beyond the family home, including exploitation and contextual safeguarding concerns, requiring a confident and experienced practitioner able to build trusted relationships with adolescents and their families. The post is based at Abbeywoods, Pity Me, Durham, with hybrid working in place – staff are expected to work from the office at least two days per week. One post relates to maternity cover and may extend beyond the initial three-month period. Candidates must be a qualified, Social Work England registered Senior Social Worker with relevant post-qualifying experience in children’s services, ideally with exposure to adolescent safeguarding or harm outside the home work.
