Job Description

An experienced Court Social Worker is sought to join the Children’s Services Court Team in Wrexham, managing complex public law proceedings from commencement through to conclusion. This is not a role for those with limited or occasional court experience.

Key responsibilities include managing care proceedings through the Public Law Outline and court process, completing high-quality evidence-based assessments (parenting, risk and viability), permanency planning including adoption, Placement Orders and Care Orders, and producing high-quality statements and care plans to meet court deadlines. The role involves close collaborative working with Legal Services, Children’s Guardians and partner agencies, with a sound working knowledge of relevant legislation, case law and statutory guidance relating to children in care and court proceedings.

Applicants must be a qualified and registered Social Worker with a substantial, demonstrable track record in court work, able to evidence this through employment history and professional references. Strong case ownership, professional accountability and effective use of management supervision are essential.
