Childrens Social Worker – Families and Assessment – #OR113965

September 3, 2026
£22 - £30 / hour

Job Description

Lincolnshire County Council is seeking a qualified Childrens Social Worker to join a statutory children and families team based in Grantham (NG31 6NZ), available from 14 September 2026 at a rate of £22.20–£29.98 per hour via Prism.

In this role you will hold a caseload spanning Child in Need, Child Protection and Public Law Outline processes, undertaking Child and Family Assessments within statutory timescales and ensuring children’s voices remain central to all plans. You will build purposeful relationships with children, young people and their families, undertaking direct work to reduce risk and promote sustainable change, and collaborate effectively with schools, health, police, early help and voluntary sector partners.

You will prepare high-quality statements, reports and care plans for child protection conferences, legal planning meetings and court proceedings, contributing to PLO processes and permanence planning where required. Accurate, analytical case recording and timely statutory visiting are core expectations of the post.

The team operates restoratively and with a strengths-based approach — keeping children safely within their family networks wherever possible whilst maintaining an unwavering focus on safeguarding and timely permanence.

Essential requirements: a degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work and current registration with Social Work England. Experience of statutory children and families work, risk assessment, multi-agency partnership working and court report writing is required.
