Job Description

Semester Recruitment is seeking a qualified Adults Social Worker for Knowsley Borough Council, based at Nutgrove Villa, Huyton (L36 6GA). This is a locum role paying £25.00–£32.82 per hour, starting 7 September 2026.

Working under the direction of the management team, you will assess, identify, meet, safeguard, and monitor the needs of adults referred to Adult Social Care in accordance with the Care Act 2014 and Knowsley’s safeguarding policies and procedures. You will carry a workload reflecting increasing complexity, risk, uncertainty, and challenge, consistent with the capability of an experienced Social Worker. The nature of day-to-day work will vary in response to team demand.

Candidates must hold a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Experience working within adult social care at a commensurate level of complexity is essential.
