Job Description
Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a qualified Adults Social Worker to join its Review Team, based at Denton Town Hall, M34 2XW. This is a temporary post running from 14 September to 19 October 2026, paying £30–£35 per hour via XMS.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support adults to live well at home within a friendly, forward-thinking team currently undergoing positive transformation and investment. You will manage a caseload carrying out Care Act Assessments, Support Plans, Mental Capacity Assessments, and Best Interest Decisions, and will signpost individuals to appropriate internal and external services to promote wellbeing and independence.
You will build effective professional relationships across health and social care disciplines to deliver coordinated, person-centred support. Tameside offers a supportive working culture with manageable caseloads, flexible working, thorough induction, ongoing supervision, and genuine opportunities for career progression from Social Worker through to senior leadership.
A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work are essential. An enhanced DBS disclosure is required. Applicants must also meet the fluency duty requirements for spoken English.
