Job Description

The London Borough of Sutton is seeking a dynamic and autonomous Occupational Therapist to join their OT HUB, based at Sutton Civic Centre, SM1 1EA. This is a hybrid role with 3 days on site (either undertaking home visits or office-based), supporting adult social care residents across the borough.

You will manage a varied caseload focused on moving and handling, equipment, and adaptation needs. Key responsibilities include carrying out strengths-based comprehensive OT assessments; making recommendations for major and minor adaptations and prescribing assistive equipment; assessing and implementing optimal moving and handling practices; working the OT Duty desk to screen referrals and address immediate needs; completing housing reports and void visits; and supporting Enabling Independence Officers (Level 3 & 4 Trusted Assessors).

Applicants must hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the HCPC, with a minimum of 2 years’ OT experience including major adaptations, DFG processes, and complex moving and handling. Previous experience in an adult social care setting is desirable; transferable skills will be considered. You must be able to travel around the borough by car or public transport.
