Job Description
Bromley Council is seeking experienced Locum Social Care Practitioners (Care Management Assistants) to join its Adult Social Care Coordination and Review Team, based at Churchill Court, Bromley. This is a temporary locum role paying £18.03–£23.47 per hour, starting 5 October 2026.
Working under the direction of qualified colleagues, you will carry out planned Care Act assessments and annual reviews for adults receiving support in a variety of settings — including care homes, Shared Lives schemes, Extra Care Housing, and those receiving domiciliary care via Direct Payments or commissioned packages. The role may involve travel within and outside the borough to review individuals in placement.
Key responsibilities include completing proportionate needs assessments and reviews, developing and monitoring support plans, undertaking Mental Capacity Assessments, contributing to Best Interest decision-making, identifying safeguarding risks, and maintaining accurate case records. You will work collaboratively with care providers, housing and health professionals to ensure continuity of care.
Candidates should have recent experience in adult social care — ideally with older people and/or housing-based services — a working knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005, and confidence managing a complex caseload autonomously. A relevant health and social care qualification (e.g. NVQ) is desirable but not essential at BR8 grade. A satisfactory DBS check and the ability to travel across the borough are required.
If you have a background in adult care management and are available for this locum role in Bromley, please get in touch.
