Job Description

Bromley Council is seeking a Supervised Contact Worker to join its Children’s Contact Centre service, based at Churchill Court, Bromley. This is a Sunday to Thursday shift pattern (non-negotiable), offered on a temporary basis at £14.52–£18.81 per hour, starting 31 August 2026.

In this child-focused role you will facilitate and supervise contact sessions between children, young people, and their families across Contact Centres, Family Centres, community venues, and family homes. Your primary responsibility is safeguarding children at all times while supporting positive family relationships and contributing to professional decision-making through detailed, objective observation and reporting.

Key responsibilities include supervising and observing contact sessions; identifying risks and intervening appropriately; producing accurate, evidence-based reports suitable for social care assessments, reviews, and court proceedings; supporting parents through role modelling and guidance; and maintaining safe, welcoming contact environments.

Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and child protection, experience of working with children and families, and the ability to produce clear written records. A current driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable. The role requires flexibility including evenings and weekends as part of the agreed shift pattern. Appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
