Job Description

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join its Learning Disabilities Team, based at Redcar and Cleveland House, TS10 1RT. This is a temporary role running from 23 August to 26 December 2026, offered at a rate of £197.74 per hour via Comensura.

Working within the Learning Disabilities service, you will support adults and carers to live the life they choose. Your caseload will include needs assessments in line with national guidance and legislation, developing and implementing care plans, and working in partnership with service users, carers, and multi-agency colleagues across statutory, voluntary, and independent sectors.

You will manage complex cases with a degree of autonomy, undertake safeguarding adults investigations, and contribute to court work where required. A strong commitment to professional standards, risk management, and data quality is essential, alongside a genuine respect for equality, diversity, and the dignity of service users.

Applicants must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Experience within Learning Disabilities services and a sound understanding of relevant legislation and codes of practice are essential.
