Job Description

Barnsley Hiring (Yorkshire Collaboration) is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Fostering Service on a temporary basis, covering long-term sick leave. Based at Westgate Plaza One, Barnsley (S70 2DR), this role runs from 1 September 2026 to 1 December 2026 at £35 per hour via XMS.

You will hold a caseload of foster carers, providing supervisory social work support and oversight to ensure the stability and wellbeing of placements. The post requires someone who can hit the ground running and is available to start as soon as possible.

To be considered you must be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England and have demonstrable experience in fostering or a closely related children’s service. If you are available and interested, please get in touch without delay.
