Job Description

Rochdale Borough Council is seeking an experienced Youth Justice Service Team Manager to join Rochdale’s newly standalone Youth Justice Service at £45 per hour. This is a fixed-term locum engagement running from 28 September to 31 December 2026, based in Rochdale, OL16 1XL.

Following a recent transition from a shared service arrangement, this is a rare opportunity to join a service at a pivotal point in its development. You will lead an established, experienced, and committed team, driving high-quality practice, supporting and developing practitioners, and promoting evidence-based interventions to improve outcomes for children, young people, families, and victims.

Key responsibilities include mentoring and supervising staff, contributing to service development and quality assurance, championing partnership working with Children’s Social Care, Education, Greater Manchester Police, Probation, and Health, and supporting innovation across the Youth Justice agenda.

The service offers regular reflective supervision, a visible and supportive leadership team, opportunities to contribute to strategic developments, ongoing professional development, and strong links with the Greater Manchester Youth Justice network.
