Job Description

An experienced Childrens Advanced Practitioner is sought for Lincolnshire County Council, based at the Grantham office (free on-site parking) covering the South Kesteven District East area, including Grantham and the rural areas reaching Bourne and Stamford.

This is a front-line safeguarding role working across the full journey of cases — from referral through to closure — without a change of social worker. You will carry out assessments of children and families where safeguarding concerns have been raised, support children subject to Child Protection and Child in Need plans, and compile assessments and reports for court within both private and public law proceedings, including Care Proceedings.

The team operates on a three-weekly duty rota: one week on duty (office-based five days, picking up new referrals and conducting initial visits) and two weeks off duty. Experience and training in completing Section 47 investigations is required.

A minimum of three years post-qualifying experience in a permanent, front-line safeguarding role is essential. Social Work England registration is required.

Rate: £29.51–£40.00 per hour. Start date: 31 August 2026. Based in Grantham, NG31 6NZ.
