Job Description
Middlesbrough Borough Council is seeking an experienced Childrens Advanced Practitioner to provide Assistant Team Manager cover within the MACH (Multi-Agency Children’s Hub) service, based at Middlesbrough House, TS1 2RH.
This is a pivotal operational leadership role. You will coordinate and oversee the timely assessment of contacts and referrals relating to children and families, support decision-making around risk and safeguarding, and ensure that information received from partner agencies — including police, health, and education — is effectively screened and analysed. Working closely with the Team Manager and multi-agency partners, you will promote a collaborative approach to safeguarding, ensuring children receive the right support at the right time and that statutory responsibilities are met in line with local procedures and national safeguarding standards.
The role is offered on a temporary basis at £34.45 per hour, with a start date of 10 August 2026. Office-based working is required for a minimum of three days per week.
Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Previous MASH or MACH experience and demonstrable experience at Advanced Practitioner or Assistant Team Manager level within a children’s safeguarding setting is strongly desirable.
