Family Support Worker – Looked After Children Contact Service – #5301390

Job Description

Cheshire East Council is seeking an experienced Family Support Worker to deliver high-quality, child-led contact sessions for looked after children and young people at Delamere House, Crewe (CW1 2JZ) and within the wider community.

In this role you will provide supervised contact between looked after children and their families, observing interactions and offering appropriate support and guidance to ensure the immediate safety and wellbeing of each child. You will promote stimulating, child-led contact experiences and contribute accurate written and verbal observations to ongoing care plans.

Key responsibilities include maintaining detailed, high-quality records in line with current recording policy; building and sustaining professional relationships with children, families, and multi-agency colleagues; and attending planning meetings with social workers to feed back observations that inform the review and care-planning process. You will deliver contact both within a contact centre setting and in community locations as directed by the Family Time Manager.

The role requires flexibility, including early mornings, evenings, and weekend working to meet service needs. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential. An Enhanced DBS check including the children’s barred list is required.
