Job Description

Warrington Borough Council is seeking an Adults Social Worker to join its First Response Team on a temporary basis, running from 24 August to 1 October 2026, at a rate of £30 per hour.

The First Response Team handles all new referrals for adults aged 18 and over. You will be the initial point of contact, carrying out assessments, and signposting individuals to appropriate services across the full breadth of adult social care.

Candidates must have broad experience across adult social care settings and be comfortable working at pace in a duty and assessment environment. Three years of references are required, with gaps in employment history checked and relevant qualifications verified against the job description and person specification.
