Job Description

Are you a Qualified Social Worker who wants to make a real difference to children and families in Knowsley? Knowsley Children’s Services is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Accelerated Permanence Team — a non-case-holding post focused on producing high-quality, evidence-based assessments and reports that support permanency planning and reduce drift and delay for children and families.

Working alongside the Looked After Children service, you will complete assessments, reports, and statements that support permanency planning for children in court proceedings. This role requires strong analytical and written skills, proven experience of court social work, and a solid understanding of public law legal frameworks.

Knowsley is on an improvement journey following a recent Ofsted inspection, with significant investment in children’s services and an ambitious new leadership team committed to supporting, developing, and valuing their social workers. The service offers flexible and hybrid working, manageable caseloads, and a range of employee benefits.

You must be a qualified, registered Social Work England practitioner with proven court experience and strong evidence-based report writing skills. This is a genuinely rewarding opportunity to shape permanency outcomes for children and young people across a supportive, inclusive team.
