Job Description

Bury Council is seeking an experienced Childrens Team Manager to lead the Children with Disabilities Team, based in Bury (BL9 0EJ). This is a full-time locum role paying £40–£46 per hour, running from 24 August 2026 to 28 February 2027.

You will manage the delivery of field social work services to children with disabilities and their families, ensuring statutory requirements and departmental policies are met. The role includes direct oversight of a team of social workers and responsibility for providing a social work service to children in need and those requiring protection.

Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification (CQSW, DipSW, BA Hons Social Work or equivalent) and have a minimum of three years post-qualifying experience in a field social work setting, including substantial child protection experience.
