Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Team Manager to join the Children with Disabilities Service at Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council. You will lead a skilled and committed team of social workers, overseeing case management, safeguarding, and care planning for children with disabilities and their families across the Tameside area.
Key responsibilities include providing strong leadership and supervision to your team, managing complex caseloads, driving safeguarding practice, and promoting innovative, partnership-focused approaches to care planning. You will be passionate about improving outcomes for children with disabilities and committed to the highest standards of social work practice.
Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification and be currently registered with Social Work England. Prior experience in a team manager or senior leadership role within a children’s disabilities or related children’s services setting is essential.
This is an interim role based at Gardenfold Way, Droylsden, Tameside (M43 7XU), offered at £27.36–£46 per hour via XMS. Hybrid working is available, with free car parking at Jubilee Gardens. Start date 31 August 2026, end date 31 October 2026.
