Job Description

Liverpool City Council is seeking an experienced Childrens Team Manager to join the Family Help Service on a locum basis, based at Liverpool North Connexions Centre, Utting Avenue East, L11 1DQ.

This is a pivotal leadership role within a service focused on improving outcomes for children and young people. You will provide direct line management to Consultant Social Workers, Social Workers, and Outreach Family Support Workers, ensuring high standards of practice across your team.

Key responsibilities include overseeing the quality of practice within your team hierarchy, supporting Consultant Social Workers with their own line management duties, and ensuring robust supervision arrangements are in place for all case holders. You will maintain management oversight of active interventions, monitoring their effectiveness in delivering positive outcomes for children and families.

You will also be responsible for managing performance, attendance, and health and safety requirements for all staff within your hierarchy.

The successful candidate will be a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England, with demonstrable experience in a management or senior leadership capacity within children’s services.
