Job Description
Liverpool City Council is recruiting an Outreach Family Support Worker within its Early Help service, based city-wide from Liverpool North Connexions Centre, L11 1DQ. This is a temporary role paying £19.40–£25.26 per hour via the Prism portal, starting 3 August 2026.
Working within the Children and Young People’s Services directorate, you will take whole-case responsibility for delivering high-quality, outreach and home-based Early Help support to children, young people, and families using a whole-family approach (levels 2 and 3). Your caseload will include cases stepping down from children’s social care, supporting families to prevent escalation to statutory services and ensuring access to universal provision for children aged 0–25 (SEND Code of Practice applies for 19–25).
Key responsibilities include completing Early Help Assessments, convening and leading Team Around the Family (TAF) meetings, acting as Lead Professional, and formulating plans that reduce risk and need. You will also provide intensive support to adolescents with complex emotional and mental health needs, deliver supervised contact, and apply the Signs of Safety model alongside the Family Outcomes Star.
The role requires an Enhanced DBS check. Candidates should have experience in early help, family support, or a related children’s services role, strong recording skills, and the ability to work effectively in family homes and community settings.
