Job Description
Bradford Metropolitan District Council is seeking a Quality Assurance and Improvement Officer to strengthen children’s services practice across Early Help, fostering, social work, and youth offending services in Bradford (BD5 0QL).
This is a specialist QA role focused on driving consistent, high-quality social care practice across the Bradford Children and Families Trust. You will undertake a range of quality assurance activities, including case file audits, practice observations, and moderation of audits completed by managers, using established tools to assess effectiveness in safeguarding and meeting the needs of children and young people.
Key responsibilities include:
– Conducting audits across Early Help, fostering, social work, and youth offending services
– Moderating manager-completed audits to ensure consistency of standards across all practice areas
– Supporting the learning and development of practitioners, NQSWs, and students to improve outcomes
– Providing constructive challenge and feedback to improve frontline practice
Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. A minimum of four years’ relevant social work experience is required, of which at least three years must be post-qualification, including a minimum of six months as an experienced social worker.
Rate: £30.11 per hour. Start date: 20 July 2026. This is a Comensura-sourced interim role.
