Job Description

Gateshead Council is seeking an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join their Emergency Duty Team (EDT) on a locum basis. Based at the Civic Centre, NE8 1HH, this role covers twilight hours from 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm, Monday to Friday, providing out-of-hours mental health crisis response and EDT social work support across the Gateshead area.

The successful candidate must hold a recognised social work qualification, be registered with Social Work England, and hold a current AMHP warrant. This is an ongoing assignment starting 21 July 2026 at £50 per hour.
