Job Description
Manchester City Council is seeking a qualified Adults Social Worker to join the Adult Social Care (ASC) Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) & Early Help and Targeted Support Team, based at Alexandra House, Moss Lane East, Manchester (M15 5BA). This is a temporary role paying £30 per hour, running from 24 August to 13 October 2026.
Deployed through the Manchester Local Care Organisation (MLCO), you will work within a multi-disciplinary team alongside Police, Health, and other partners to manage new contacts ranging from advice and guidance through to safeguarding concerns. Using a strengths-based conversation model, you will help collate information from partner agencies to determine proportionate action and enable adults to achieve choice, independence, and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities include conducting complex assessments, developing person-centred support plans, managing risk, maintaining accurate statutory records, and contributing to the Better Outcomes Better Lives (BOBL) transformation programme. You will also support and develop students and trainees.
A recognised Social Work qualification and current registration with Social Work England are essential. Candidates must be willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check and travel across Manchester. Three years of references and gaps in employment history will be verified.
