Job Description

Darlington Borough Council is seeking an experienced Fostering Supervising Social Worker to join their team on a hybrid working basis, with some office attendance required to be discussed at interview. The role is based at Town Hall, Darlington (DL1 5QT) and is available from 3 August 2026 at £27.56 per hour.

This is a generic fostering role covering a broad range of responsibilities, including Fostering Assessments, Connected Carer Assessments (Form Ks and Viability Assessments), supervision of mainstream and connected foster carers, completion of Annual Reviews, attendance at Fostering Panel, and involvement in support, training, and recruitment activities. The position has arisen following internal promotions within the team.

Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Experience in fostering assessment and supervision is essential.
