*Childrens Social Worker – MASH – #000B3A7F1

July 16, 2026
£39 - £39 / hour

Job Description

Oldham Council is seeking an experienced Childrens Social Worker to join its co-located Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) in Oldham, Greater Manchester. This is a full-time interim post running from 24 August 2026 to 1 April 2027, paying £39 per hour.

Based at George Street, OL1 1HD, you will work within a multi-agency team that brings together Greater Manchester Police, Health, Community Safety, Adult Social Care, IDVA, and the Prevention Hub under one roof — enabling swift, joined-up decision-making to protect children and families.

As a Duty and Advice Social Worker you will respond promptly to contacts received by the MASH, carry out timely information gathering with families, partner agencies and members of the public, and make well-evidenced threshold decisions in line with statutory duties and local practice standards. A confident understanding of statutory social work functions and threshold criteria is essential.

Candidates must be able to provide five years of references with all employment gaps accounted for. Social Work England registration and a recognised social work qualification are required. Please note that suppliers must complete and attach the DfE Recommendation Compliance Questions before submission — applications without this will not proceed.

If you hold current MASH or duty-and-advice experience and are available from late August 2026, please get in touch without delay.
