Childrens Social Worker – Families First / Support and Protect / First Response – #000B39DD1

Job Description

Trafford Council is seeking experienced Children’s Social Workers across three teams: Families First (4 posts), Support and Protect (4 posts), and First Response (1 post), based in Stretford, Manchester (M32 0TH).

This is a temporary contract running from 17 August to 31 October 2026, paying up to £39 per hour (capped rate) via XMS.

Candidates must have substantial children’s social work experience and hold a recognised social work qualification with current Social Work England registration. Five years of references are required, with gaps in employment history checked. DfE Recommendation Compliance Questions must be completed and uploaded to the candidate record prior to submission — applications without this will not be progressed.
