Childrens Social Worker – Locality, Duty, CWD & The Hub – #000B398E1

Job Description

Wigan Council is seeking a qualified Children’s Social Worker to join their services across Locality, Duty, Children with Disabilities (CWD), and The Hub teams. This is a temporary role based in Wigan (WN1 1NJ) paying £38 per hour, running from 27 July to 28 September 2026.

The post sits within the Greater Manchester Collaboration framework. Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. A 5-year employment reference history is required, with all gaps in employment checked. Relevant qualifications will be verified as per the job description and person specification.

Important: This role is sourced via XMS and subject to DfE Recommendation Compliance requirements. Suppliers must complete the DfE Compliance Questions and attach the completed file to the candidate record prior to submission. Applications that do not pass these questions will not be progressed.
