Job Description
Rochdale Borough Council is seeking an experienced Children’s Social Worker to join a busy Duty and Assessment Team in Rochdale town centre (OL16 1XU).
This is a front-line role supporting the team to complete Child and Family assessments, determining whether cases are stepped down or transferred across to Family Support and Protection teams. The role requires a driver and a candidate who can demonstrate agency progression within teams.
Rochdale offers flexible working conditions, with the opportunity to work from both the office and home. The modern, open-plan office in Rochdale town centre provides a supportive, friendly environment with regular formal and informal supervision, peer supervision, and induction and training opportunities mirroring those offered to permanent staff.
The role runs from 3 August to 31 October 2026 at £35 per hour. Two years’ references are required, with employment history gaps checked and relevant qualifications verified in line with the Job Description and Person Specification. Candidates must complete the DfE Recommendation Compliance Questions prior to submission.
