July 10, 2026
£40 - £40 / hour

Job Description

Rochdale Borough Council’s Children With Disabilities Service is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker for a locum engagement paying £40 per hour, running from 3 August 2026 to 29 January 2027 (Rochdale, OL16 1XU).

This is a pivotal role within a welcoming, award-winning team. You will undertake statutory assessments under the Children Act 1989, identifying needs, strengths, and risks and developing person-centred care and support plans in partnership with children, families, and multidisciplinary professionals. You will hold the more complex cases and support less experienced colleagues, with the opportunity to deputise for the Advanced Practitioner.

Rochdale CWD offers a manageable caseload, TOIL, regular reflective supervision, agile working, motivational interviewing training, and a genuinely supportive environment where agency workers receive the same level of support as permanent staff.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in a Children with Disabilities team, including child protection, family safeguarding, and care proceedings, alongside strong recording and compliance standards and experience of supporting NQSWs or ASYE colleagues.
