Childrens Social Worker – Kinship Assessment Team – #5299944

Job Description

A Social Worker is required for Lancashire County Council’s Kinship Assessment Team, based at County Hall, Preston (PR1 8RE). This is a locum role paying £36.00 per hour via Comensura, starting 3 August 2026.

The team sits within Children’s Services – Fostering, and the successful candidate will be responsible for completing assessments of Kinship Carers and Foster Carers. You will need a sound knowledge of fostering legislation and policy, and the ability to produce thorough, high-quality assessments to support permanence planning for children.

To be considered you must be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England, with demonstrable experience of kinship or foster carer assessments. Interviews are being arranged as soon as possible, so early application is strongly advised.
