Job Description

An experienced Childrens Advanced Practitioner is required for Lincolnshire County Council, based at the Grantham office (NG31 6NZ) covering the South Kesteven District. This is a frontline safeguarding role with a rate of £29.51–£40.00 per hour, starting 20 July 2026.

You will hold a varied caseload from referral through to closure, supporting children subject to Child in Need and Child Protection Plans, and progressing cases through Care Proceedings where required — with no change of Social Worker throughout. The role requires completing Section 47 investigations, compiling court reports for both private and public law proceedings, and managing cases across Grantham and the wider rural South Kesteven area.

The team operates on a four-weekly duty rota: one week on duty (office-based five days, picking up new referrals and completing initial visits), two weeks off duty, and one further week. Free on-site parking is available.

A minimum of three years post-qualifying experience in a permanent, frontline safeguarding role is essential, along with experience and training in Section 47 investigations. Social Work England registration is required.
