Job Description

Bromley Council is seeking a confident and experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Children’s Safeguarding service, based at Churchill Court in Bromley (BR1 1AS). This is a locum role paying £29.79–£38.99 per hour, starting 6 July 2026.

You will manage a varied caseload spanning Child in Need, Child Protection, Public Law Outline, and care proceedings for children up to 18 years of age. Strong experience in complex safeguarding and permanence cases is essential, as is significant involvement in court proceedings.

Essential requirements:
• Recognised Social Work degree (BA/MA or equivalent)
• Current Social Work England registration
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Senior Practitioner
• Significant experience in Child Protection and court proceedings
• Enhanced DBS check
