Job Description

Bromley Council is seeking a highly experienced and confident Adults Social Worker to join its fast-paced Safeguarding Hub in Bromley (BR1 1AS). This is a critical front-door role carrying a 3-month locum assignment from 29 June 2026, paying up to £32.00 per hour via Umbrella or Ltd.

Operating at the front door of Bromley Adult Social Care, you will gather information on safeguarding concerns, make timely, proportionate, and defensible decisions, and take appropriate action to manage risk. You will work in full accordance with the Care Act 2014, with a strong focus on Section 42 (s42) safeguarding enquiries — including screening, decision-making, and leading enquiries. Applying the principles of Making Safeguarding Personal (MSP), you will keep the voice, wishes, and outcomes of residents central to all decision-making.

Essential requirements include: current Social Work England registration; significant, demonstrable experience of adult safeguarding within the Care Act 2014 framework; proven s42 experience; strong analytical and professional judgement skills; and experience of working in a front-door, hub, or MASH environment managing high volumes of referrals. Resilience, confidence, excellent recording skills, and the ability to prioritise under pressure are all essential.
